The fourth lay of the strike found
all surface car lines In Manhattan,

in which he denied published reports
that his companies were "out to fight
orgaiz'ed labor to a finish."

of the Third Avenue Itllroad con
tany, informed Mayor Alitchel in a
letter today that in future no mem
bers of the Amalgamated Association
of Street and E'lectric Ralilway em
ployes will be employed on any line
over which he has jurisdiction.
