The woods were al kinds, oaks and hickories mostly Many years ago when there were n railroads, stage coaches came throug here and there was an old inn or tav era as it used to be called. Thursday, a large crowd greeted the county candidates at this place. There was no unexpected de velopment in the speeches of the as pirants for office, as they all spoke along their usual lines, and received an impartial and respectful hearing. The campaign has been free from bitterness, for the most part, and the candidates have been hampered by nothing except perhaps a lack of time. The issues have been presented to the people, and ere this goes to press we will know, whether they have chosen the mien who best may serve then. Mr. and Mrs. Sanith Boyd and little Elinor, of Greenwood, visited Mrs. II. Y. Simmons and family last week. Miss Cecil Owings spent several days visiting friends in the Hillside community last week. Mr. Claud Armstrong, of laltimore, Md., arrived here last week where he will remain until Sept. 15th visiting homefolks. Mr. J. M. Owings visited friends in Spartanburg last week.
