a native of Laurens county. After at
tending the public school of his coun
ty lie entered Wofford college in 1888
and was graduated with the A. IH. (IC
gree four years later. )r. Daniel then
began teaching school, his first work
being at Hebron, in Marlboro county.
He taught for two years in Bateshurg,
and then went to the school at Central.
During the summer of 15,1;1, Dr.
Daniel studied at Chicago University
aind- then went to Vanderbilt, being
graduated flriai that institution :i 11th1
