As iusual the school auditorium was filled with in terested friends and patrons from here, as well as other sections of the township. This occasion is generally a long looked for event, and Friday night was no exception to the rule. All the speakers, especially the little folks, acquitted themselves in so creditable a manner that the judges found it difficult to make their deci sion. To Gray Court-Owings, however, goes all the honor of representing the township at the county fair, April 11th, as the decision of the judges were in favor of the Gray Court contestants. As Laurens was one of the pioneers in such a move ment we rave a reputation to sustain and it is to be hoped that the coining School Fair will be one of the best in attendance and wide-spread inter est we have ever held. The railroads have been asked to furnish extra coaches for their morning trains, the roads will likely be in good order and the people of this city want everybody in the county to be here that day. Bring the children. The trip will help their education. All useful knowledge is not gotten out of books. That per son is best educated who is best fitted to fill a place of usefulness in the com nunity where he lives. Knowledge of persons, places and what others are doing is part of the sum total we call education. So co. e and bring the children. It Will mean some trouble to do so, perhaps, but this event will be worth more to them and ou Ithan a circus parade. Our wIe-awake coun-. ty school ofllcials have made splendid plans for the (lay and the contests or skill, the exhibits, the parade and all the day's doings are going to be great..
