Charles Hilliard and Loeal Ilayers I('lease Audience at the Scloolhouse. The play, "Cousin Isabelle" as ren dered In the school auditorium last Tuesday evening by Mr. Charles lil lard and a company of local players, was the hit of the season. Those who witnessed the performance declare it one of the most attractive, entertain ing and mirthful plays that has been seen in Laurens In a long time. Mr. Hillard, who played the part of Cousin Isabelle, acted his part in the finest fashion and proved to the ap preclative audience that his much heralded reputation as an actor was a most deserved one. The local play ers who assisted him, all played their harts in the best of style and every one woni the applause of the crowd present to greet the yonIlg actors. The same play will be presented in Laurens again some time during the lat ter' part of JIanuary. The exact (late has not yet been selected. Mr. H iliard left last Mlonday for Clinton, where lhe has been1 engaged to give the play for the benefit of the schools.
