The faculty and the alumni are very much, interested, and are doing all in their power to aid the manage ment, to puat out a team of Which the university m;ay well be proud at the close of the season when the Iast down has been called. The varsity players who are coining back on Sept. I for early jractise are Neklon, Gregory, llahn, Wingo, Rice, Payne, and Gressette. These men will form the nucleur around whlIch the team will he built. There are a num ber of men who were on the second team last season who will be valuable additions to the varsity. Among theue are Jeter, McManaway, Stever, WNoode, Dallentino, Farrnr, Hogan. Cox, Ted Jones, Shirley, Big Smith, Pete Wat son, Wharton and Moore. There are a good many Freshmen with high school records who will report for practice on Sept 1 also. Through the splendid co-operation of the alumni members of the athletic council in Greenville arrangements have been made to have a football training camp from Sept. 1 to Sept. 11. Its location is ideal. It is in the heart of the Bluo Ridge range up In the mountains near Caesar's lead in western South Carolina. Near the camp is a deep pool over one's head in a clear, Icy cold, sparkling mountain stream in which the men may take a dive pfter a work-out on the field nearby. The men will sleep out In tents. The caip will be free to all who try out for the team. Bet ween twenty-five and thirty-Ilve men are go ing.
