T. Coats, better known as Dick Coats,
who had for several years been suf
fering from diseased kidneys, died last
Friday. While his death had not been
unexpected for some time, yet it caus
ed great sorrow and grief to his family
and many friends who tenaciously
cl'ing to the ray of hope given by a
lingering life. .\r. Coats was a well
known farmer living several miles be
low Cross lill and was about 60 years
of age. IlI the presence of a large con
(olirse of grief-strickeln relatives and
sorrowing friends, the funeral and
burial services were held Saturday
morning at Bethabara church, coil
dullcted by Rev. W. ). Ratchford, as
sisted by Rev. \W. 11. Turner. The pall
