It will be seen thatl in nearly taking at leading part in college ac a student of the Junior class in the law school. Mir. Goodwin is a member of the Sophomore class. All of the Laurens county students take an ac five part in the affairs of the Univer sity and are held in high esteem by their fellow students and the faculty. W. S. Currell, President. Erskine College. 1iskinie college is prould to number among its students five Iaurens coun ty boys, all of them ilproducts of the Laurens coity school system. They are Messrs. W. 1". llakely, S. If. iyrd, 11. 11). Ilyrd, of Ora; Willie W. Wolff, of Barksdale; It. Melvin Abercrombie, of (Iray Court. Mr. 11. 1). Iyrd is not a member of the collegiate delart men t, but is an aluman nus of the college and is now -at the college pursuing his stidies in theology in the Theological Seminary. Ile is a most promising young minister, and he will doubtless reflect credit on the college, the church and on his calling. Hie will take up church work in the Virginia presby tery in June. W. W. Wolff is a mei her of the ,lunior class in college. lie has been a conspicuous figure on the athletic field for the past two years as a baseball star. He has already ben chosen first pitcher for the coi ing year. Mr. Wolff is deservelly popular with the college stuielits. 1t. M. Abercrombie is a nem ber of the Sophomore class. Ile is a. good steady fellow and is making good. Ile wears a nIck-name, and college men, he it known, never give a fellow a nick name unless they like him. W. 'E'. Iflakely and S. 11. Byrd are from the Ora schools. They are both good workers in the college classes, and they are good fellows outside of the classroom. All of tihe Laurens boys are church members. In college they are Y. Mi. C. A. members. They have never been disciplined by the faculty. ihey seem to be in the college for the purpose of getting anl edccation, and they do not th-refore waste any time getting it.
