The house was very beautiful in Christmas decor ations, red bells, paper and holly be ing entwined together and around the electric lights, throwing a very soft glow over the scene. Mrs. Balle was assisted by Misses Lucy Sitgreaves, Emily Meng and Laura Barksdale. Af ter the gaines were played a tempt ing salad course with coffee was served. 000 Mrs. S. M. Wilkes entertained at a 'bridge party Monday afternoon in honor of Miss Annie Sitgreaves, Mrs. John T. Stevens, of Kershaw, Mrs. E. D. Blakeney and 'Mrs. R. F. Fleming. After a number of exciting gaimes were played a delicious salad course with coffee was served. Mr.. Wilkes was assisted in entertaining by Mrs. A. I). Gray, Mrs. W. D. Ferguson, Mrs. .J. U. McIlurney Sitgreaves, and the groom met her at the chancel on the arm of his best man, Congressman James F. Byrnes, of Aiken. Using the impres sive ring service, Rev. Guignard unit ed them as one. After the benediction had been pronounced, the wedding party moved out to the strains of the Tannhauser wedding march and re paired to the home of Mrs. W. H. A marriago which came as a sur prise to a large number of their num erous friends was solemnized at the hotme of Rev. M. L. Lawson, the Bap tist minister, Christmas night when Mr. Henry M. Shell and Miss lessie McCarley were made man and wife. Mr. Lawson performed the ceremony. Friday morning Alr. and airs. Shell left for Atlanta and other points, where they spent their honeymoon, returning Monday evening.. They are temporarily at home at the residence of the groom's mother, Mrs. Eloise Shell, on Iast Main street.
