It is estimated that the cattle tick costs the State of South Carolina in round numbers $1,000,000 each year. The veterinary division of Clemson College has been co-oporatlng with the United States department of agri culture in eradicating ticks frotn South Sarollna. The expense of the work has been shared by Clemson College and the Gntlod States de partment of agriculture. Prior to i'.'l". no financial aid was received from other sources. There arc some who look for no more than last year's total, while many look for ill h ast 10, ?00, nun, hales. Anything over Ibe latter figure would cause a violent break while anything under the form er would result in a stiff rise. On the whole, the trade is willing to heiivV in larger figures than were returned last year because the weath er has boon so favorable during the ; last ginning period.
