Martin, a very sub stantial ami highly esteemed citizen of the county, died at tin: h?hne of bis son, R. W. Martin, in Dials community Saturday night. Mr. Martin's home was In the Warrior Crock section of the county but In- was visiting his ?011 for a few days when he was stricken with paralysis, a few hours before hi t death. Tin; funeral services were held at Dials churCh Sunday. Mr. Martin was very highly thought of by people who knew him. lie was fur many years interested In the edu cational life of tin; county and was at one time county superintendent of education, lie also held the office of county treasurer, lie was a consis tent Christian, having been a deacon in the Warrior Creek Baptist church for many yours. Mr. Martin is survived by his wife and the following children: It. W. Martin. Smith Martin, Glenn Martin. Mrs. .lames Adams, of Fountain Inn, Mrs. Itlissell Patterson, Mrs. Nabors and an unmarried daughter. New tirist Mill. The Itcctly River Power Company has installed an electric grist mill at their plant at Tumbling Shoals. The machinery will be the same as thai for merly used by the old water power mill that was located at the shoals. The new plant will be ready at once for grinding corn. Buys Bloodhounds.
