Eingleton recently sold cotton at Ware Shoals. Mr. Hob Henderson, of Branchville, is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ii. L. Henderson. Mr. W. H. Hill has a very fine colt. Mr. Clifton Anderson, of Green wood, was in our midst last week. The friends of Mr. Willie Kn'ght, Mr. W. H. Hughes and Master Fred Mar tin Will be pleased to learn that they are Improving Mr. B. C. Graham, of Greenwood, formerly of this place. Is visiting rel atives and friends. We recently had the pleasure of meeting our good friend, Mr. Jas. Bald win, of Due West. There are several stray cows In Dr. Jones* pasture which the owners are requested to call for. A protracted meeting is in progress at Walnut Grove, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Mike McGee, assisted by Rev. Mr. Mitchell. Everybody is cor dially invited to attend. Rev. Win. Buzhardt, of Hodges, preached here yesterday to an appre ciative congregation. Mr. Walter Jones visited Ilonca Path last Friday. Mr. Jas. Clardy, of Laurens, is vis iting relatives here. Mr. Jas. Jones visited his daughter, Mrs. Willie Knight, yesterday. The recent showers have revived th^ cropF. Mr. G. L. Graham has a fine crop of cotton Rev. R. F. Morris, of Princeton, will meet hi3 appointment bore on the 2nd ?3m day night In August. The Masons and Woodmen had a joint picnic at Mt. Gallagher last Sat urday. Dr. W. T. Jones presided, Rev. J. M. Dallas opened with prayer and Hon. W. H. Cobb of Columbia, Hon. R. A. Cooper, of Laurons, and Col. J. H. Wharton, of Waterloo, delivered able instructive and eloquent addresses. The attendance was large and every one enjoyed tho delightful occasion. We recently had the pleasure of 'meeting the following friends; Messrs. Wade Plnson and Hud Royd, of Ekonv Sheriff OwingS, Jas. Clardy and Hunch Power, of Laurens, and S. R. Several parties went last week and all report a nice outing with plenty of fish. Some of our young people are agitating the move ment for an outing at Tumbling Shoals, In the near future Miss Julia 'Childless, of Laurens, and Misses Claud and Bruce Gray, of Gray Court, spent the week-end with their grandmother, Mrs. L. S. Brooks. Miss Ruth Curry is visiting relatives in Greenville. Miss Fannie Brownleo has returned from a short visit with Mr. V. C. Hcl lams and family, of Laurens. Mr, and Mrs. Robert Gray spent Thursday with Mr. N. L. Gray and family. Miss Sallle Cheek, of Princeton, is visiting relativer here. Mr. T. A. Willis, and Master John Willis spent Wednesday with Mr. 1). D. Hrownlee. Misses Kate and Eileen Curry and \Tv. Stat? Curry spent last Sunday with M'ss Luclle Cox, near Bramlette. C, Is spending some time with friends and relatives hero Miss Alleene Willis Is visiting rela tives in Woodruff this week. Mr. William Byrd of the county was In town Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. J, M. Friday have been the guests of their daughter, Mrs T. W. Munnerlyn, for the past week. We are glad to see Mr. T. A. Willis on the streets again after a few weeks illness with typhoid fever. Dr. W. B. Patton and Mr. Melton or Cross Anchor attended the Masonic Picnic here Saturday. Mr. Geo. T. Bryan of Greenville was among the Masonic guests for their annual picnic Saturday. Mr. W. H. Drummond and son, Toy, of Lanford were In town Saturday at tending the Masonic feast. From what can be learned tomorrow will end the new county proposition in Laurens county, so far a* Woodruff Is concerned. While some have changed from "Agin It" to stand for it, there are still some turning from for it to "Agin if. Somo think that It will be close while some of the old politicians arc sure It will be defeated hy a large majority. On Thursday July the 24th at Wood ruff, Miss Carrie Jessie Rogers and Mr. A. C. Shell were married. Miss Rogers had been visiting thore for some time and Mr. Shell drove over Thursday ev ening, had the knot tied and returned home Friday morning. Miss Rogers Is the daughter of Dr. Chas. E. Rogers and very popular In society hero. Mr. Shell 1;-, the youngest son of the lato Edwin T. Shell and a prosperous young fanner. The chain gang came into this com munity a day or two ago and did a good piece of work just opposite Ml". J. R. Elledgo's residence, in widening the road. There Is a groat deal more Of the same kind of work needed be tween here and Ware Shoals, as there arc places where two buggies cannot pass. Thore are getting to be so many automobiles that it will be nec essary to have wider roads. We would be glad if the supervisor would go over the road from here to Ware Shoals and have the road straighten ed in some places. Mrs. Eugene Simpson spent the lat ter part of the week In Greenwood visiting her sisters, Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. Walter Cork. All who are interested In the ceme tery at Poplar Spring church are re quested to meet Thursday, the 31st, for the purpose of cleaning it off. Misses Grace Simmons and Annie Odell and Mr. Fred Odell visited at Ware Shoals last Wednesday. Miss Nellie Llpford, from near Shoals Function, is visiting the Misse.; Agnes and'Mary Simpson.
