Ideas of fanning have taken on a somewhat different shape than they formerly were. Farm ers (some of them) are eager to try a different scope of farming, other than the old way of producing cotton and col ton alone. Some fanners are slow to try this new method of fanning. You can't beat such into some farm ers' heads. That's the reason that the average Southern farmer falls backward with the passing of each year instead of going forward. A progressive farmer told the writer re cently "that he was glad that there were plenty of farmers fool enough to plant cotton alone, for," ho said, "it gave a better chance for him to ( limb faster." It's a good thing there's some idiots, it gives the sensible man a greater opportunity.
