The earthquake shock last Wednes day about 1:30 o'clock was felt and commented on by a number of per i sons hero. Some hear dthe roaring noise and others noticed tin vessels rattle and felt the vibrations. Thurs day night we had a terrific wind storm just after midnight. Brown and family of Greenwood county have moved to our town. They will receive a hearty welcome. Mr. Hen Owens who lives about two miles from town, lost his house and contents by lire Saturday night. Mr. Owens is a bachelor and lives by him self, lie had just retired for the.night when he heard the noise of the fire. He only saved his one suit of clothes, lie had no Insurance.
