Mrs. John Plusoi) came home from the hospital last Thursday. Her friends hope for a speedy recovery. Mrs. J. H. Nance was taken to a hospital last week for treatment. She has been quite unwell for several weeks. Mr. Nance and Dr. J. H. Mil ler went with her. Mrs. Lizzie Grant of Spartanburg was in town last week looking after business interests. Mrs. Annie Frazier of Wlnona, Mis sissippi is with Mrs. N. B. Davenport for a visit. Mrs. Spratt of Greenwood county is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Dr. Klugh. Mrs. Mary Plnson of Greenwood has been in town several days visiting relatives. The rainy weather interfered very much with Miss Llda Rudd's millinery opening last Thursday and Friday. All j the ladies can come later however and find just what they want In her line. Mr. B. R. Austin Is a delegate and Mr. W. M. Miller, alternate to Enoree Presbytery which will meet In Spar tanburg this week. Rev. Mr. Hatch ford will also attend the meeting. Miss Connie Martin spent the past week in Clinton visiting relatives. Mr. Wesley Pitts, another Cross Hill boy left for Cross Anchor last Thurs day to teach. He has been in charge of the school there two years. Mr. Hugh Leaman of Whltmlre spent last Sunday and Monday with homo Mr. and Mrs. .1. O. Denny and little Miss Catherine Goggans Denny spent Saturday night and Sunday witli Mr. and Mrs. William Atchlson at their country home a few miles from town. Messrs. Lyle Leaman, Guy Martin and Larry McGowan came over from Clinton Saturday to be with home folks Sunday. Mrs. Lula Griffin and little daughter of Greenwood county are visiting her mother Mrs. Janie McSwaln. Today the Laurcns county associa tion convenes at Quaker church Messrs. John R. Finley, T. S. Hang ston and J. A. P. Moore will represent Prospect. These are our oldest mem bers and deacons?in their old age they still take a delight in their mas ter's work. The younger members felt like it would hardly be nil asso ciation without "Uncles" John and Tom and Cousin Jim to represent us. May their tribe Increase. They car ry up the good news that Prospect met her full apportionment. Miss Juanita Martin left Monday morning for Spartanburg, whore she goes to accept a position with the well-known house of Floyd & Lyles. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Moore of Chestnut Ridge wore the pleasant guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Culbert son, Sunday. Miss Louise Dean visited her cousin Dolly Henry at "The Henry Place" for the week-end. Mr. (5. W. Promtt of this place Is now with the well known hrm of J. H. Sullivan Co.. for the fall months .Miss Ida Turner has roquested tliat as many of the patrons and young people as will come, meet at the Pros pi c i school house Friday afternoon to j clean up the yard. She also desires ja wagon and team as there is a good deal of debrio from the old school ' house that needs carting away. Mrs. Wofford also announces that the Ru ral association will meet that after noon to plan a box supper for the benefit of the school and also to de cide on the nature of the "float" to represent us at the county fair. A full turn out is urgently requested to he on hand. To think that we didn't have very much news to report and two of the visitors from here positively forbid my telling they were off on a visit! Think of that will you. when most everybody these days are trying their best to get their names in the paper! I'll forgive them their depriving me the pleasure of telling of their ab sence for the compliment (implied) to the Advertiser and me. "Law", said one as she heard the train coining, "Si.
