CAMPAIGN TO OPEN AT SUMTER,
First'Mooting June 18?Itinerary as
Arranged Last Night.
Columbia, Jone 4.?The campaign
for State offices will open at Sumter
on Tuesday, June 18, visit each of the
forty-four county seats In the State
and close at Greenville on August
22. The primary will take place the
last Tuesday in August, the 2t7h of
that month. There will he only one
campaign "circus" as the plans call
for the candidates for United States
Senator, Governor and all the State of
fices to be included In the campaign.
The Itinerary was announced here
tonight by the sub-committee, com
posed of Chairman John Gary Evans,
R. I. Manning and W. F. Stevenson.
The programme will be submitted to
tho full State executive committee, at
a meeting to be held the first of next
week.
The programme was announced fol
lowing the arrival of Mr. Stevenson,
who delivered the address at the com
mencement of Ersklne College, at Duo
WeBt, today, and who did not reach
the city until nearly midnight.
The assessments for the various can
didates will be fixed at a meeting of I
tho State executive committee, to be
held next week.

Wherear. God in His wise providence
has removed from among us by death
Dr. E. W. Plnson, one of the Directors
of the Bank of Cross Hill who was
ever ready in the faithful discharge of
his duties to this Institution makes it
Imminently befitting that we record
our appreciation of him.
Resolved, That the cheerfulness in
which he rendered with faithful ability
at all times his duties will be held in
grateful remembrance.
Resolved, That the removal of such
a bright and cheerful life from among
us leaves a vacancy that will bo deep
ly realized by this institution, and will
prove a serious loss to the community
and general public.
Resolved, That as a physician he will
bo greatly missed after a service of
twenty years among our people.
Resolved, That with deep sympathy
with the bereaved relatives of the de
ceased we express our hope that ev. . BO
great a loss to us all may be over
ruled for good by Him "Who do-ib all
things well".
