Dear Sir: I am summoned as a petit

seventy years old. I have had some
rough times and have been In danger

tion days, when our hands were tied
with federal bayonets; when you could
sleep more comfortable out In the
open. I was at the rst battle of Ma
nassas, at the Seven Days fight around
Richmond. I was shot down at the
second battle of Manassas, shot down
again at Chancellorsvllle and was car
ried from the battlefield each time by
the ambulance corpB. I was at the
battle of the Wilderness, fought eigh
teen long hours in the bloody angle, at
Spottsylvania. I was captured at the
fall of Petersburg, was a prisoner at
Harts Island, New York, came home
June L'Tth, 1865. A few witnesses liv
ing. 1 cannot hear as good as 1 would
like to hear, to be a juror.
Respectfully,

fairly good, and if the rains continue
we think fall oats will be more than
we expected. The out look for the
