Advertisement Calling for Bids Ap
pears In tills Issue of The Advertiser
The new postoflloe building will now
certainly be built?soon. It's straight
goods, though, at this writing for the
advertisement calling for bids appears
in this issue of The Advertiser.
As Is already known the lot is on
West Main street, opposite the Dial
building.
It is supposed that actual construc
tion will begin shortly after the bids
are opened, which- will be April 25th.

He has made a very favorable Impres
sion on the entire town and the ser
vices Sunday evening, March 12, in
which all tho congregations united to
welcome him were marked by a deep
ly spiritual tone and the evidence of
an attitudo of brotherly love "inong
the ministers which promises < 11 for
Clinton.
Presbyterian Education Endowment*
The weather seems to have con
spired with the ogre called Hard Times
to make difficult the work of the can
vassers for the educational endowment
fund. In spite of that fuel Clinton
raised nearly all *of the $10,000 as
sessed her, early in the week, and this
evening at a mass meeting of men
interested tho amount was completed.
A Confederate Hazaar.
Tho ladies of Stephen 1). Leo chap
ter are preparing for a white sale
and turkey dinner and oyster supper
on Thursday, March 21, for the bene
fit of the monument fund. The ladies
have been busy at shirt waists, col
lars, belts, ties, bonnets, aprons, and
the like for several weeks and have
an attractive supply of articles in
readiness. As for the dinner and sup
per the housewives of this town have
a well-established reputation which
this occasion will not see suffer.

Mrs. W. H, Washington Is in Spar
tanburg attending the meeting of the
Daughters of the Confederacy.
Miss Hattie Jones, who has been
visiting friends in Laurens for several
weeks, left Monday for her home In
Charlotte.
Capt. J. M. Phllpot pent Sunday in
Rock Hill with his daughter. Miss
Marie Phllpot, who is attending Win
throp College.
Miss Hannah Tolbert, who has been
in Rattle Creek, Mich., since July of
1911, returned homo yesterday to be
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. .1. F.
Tolbert, for about two months.
Col. L F. Bums has joined the big
party of Red Iron Hacket buyers and
the whole troop is now in the north
ern markets buying "same goods for
less money." Col Burns will be away
for several weeks.
Mr. G rover Rlchey has returned
home from Florence for a few days be
fore returning Thursday, when he
will take up his duties in a gents fur
nishing establishment where he has
accepted a position.
Mr. F. 1). Langston will leave for
Hamlet, N. C, in a few days where he
and his brother have bought out a
jewelry establishment. They will
continue the business under the firm
name of Langston Bros. The' many
friends of Mr. and Mrs. Langston re
gret to see them leave and hope for
them much success in their now home.

Bridge on Tuesday afternoon. Tables
were arranged for twelve guests and
several enjoyable rubbers were played

were used. Mrs. Crymes was assisted
by Miss May Moore, of Ninety Six. A
delicious Ice course was served.
