General Sessions.

The Grand Jury for Laurens County
muk?s this its final presentment for
this term of the Court.
We have passed on all hills hand
ed us by the solicitor, and he informs
us that he has no further bills, for
our cdnsidcration at the present term.

the past fiscal year as rcouired by
law, and tho matters therein contain
ed will be examined by tne Grand
Jury through its committee's report
on same.
Wo have endeavored to give care
ful consideration to tho charge de
livered us by your Honor and the mat
ters therein referred to will receive
attention from time to time during
our term of service both by our com
mittees and the individual members
of the jury.
It gives us pleasure to report that
the comforts and accommodations of
the new Court House now in process
of completion have been placed at the
disposal of the court for its use by
the contractor in charge <>l" tho build
ing, for which accommodation he de
serves the thanks of overy person in
attendance at the term. The arrange
ment of the building is most conve
nient, and when it is completed in
accordance with the plans and speci
fications it will he a building in which
every citizen of the county may take
just pride and will he a monument
to our efficient supervlslor and his
board of commissioners.
We have appointed the following
committees who will take cognizance
of all matters proper to he considered
by them and report tho same to the
grand jury as a body at its regular
sessions:

The foreman of the grand jury has
been appointed chairman of each of
these committees.
Wo of course have not at yet had
time to investigate any of the general
affairs of the county, but this will be
done before our time of service ex
pires.
In conclusion we desire to thank
most earnestly your Honor, and all
the court officials for courtesies ex
tended us.

bereaved family.

Our people sympathize with Green
wood in the loss sustained in the burn
ing of Oregon Hotel and hope that it
will soon be rebuilt.
Walter Jones visited Greenwood
last Friday.
The many friends of Mrs. Myntt of
Easley will be pained to learn of her
death. She was roared here, being the
daughter or Mr. L. T. H. Daniel, and
Wits universally loved.
Mr. Henry W. Crowe, chief electri
cian at Ware Shoals, tendered his res
ignation sonic time ago and has moved
to Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. Crowe will
bo greatly missed, They were held
in tho highest esteem by all of our
people. We shall ever hold in memory
all of the kindness to us and wish
them great happiness and prosperity
in their new home.
We had the pleasure of meeting our
friend Mr. Henry Simmons of Gray
Court.
Mr. Jas. Jones visited his daught
ers, Mesdames Willie Knight and But
ler Washington.
Mr. William Stone of Laurens Is on
a visit to his sister, Mrs. J. F. Mor
rison.
The rebuilding of Rasor's bridge is
a great convenience to this section.
The road on each side of the river Is
in llrst rate condition and there is a
considerable amount of travel.
Our picnic will be on Friday the
17th of May. Hon. Ira B. Jones of
Lancaster and Hon. II. II. Wntkins of
Anderson will deliver addresses.
We extend a most cordial invitation
to every one to shape their plans to
attend the picnic and spend a delight
ful day with us.
