It A BUN NEWS. ^ Rabun, Feb. 19.?At the beautiful country home of Mr. William Mahon noar Rabun Creek church, Miss Car rie Mahon and Mr. Archie Bean of Easley were married Sunday evening, L February ,18th, by Rev. E. V. Babb of 1 Easley. Only few relatives and friends were present. After Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Beam will make their home in Easley. We wish them a long and h?u>py life, htrs. G. W. Babb, and Mrs. Nancy gW^Kena were the visitors of Mrs. T. F. Hlabb Friday. Mrs. Eliza Mahon and Mrs. Lizzie ^vCheek spent Saturday with Mrs. Bel ton Owens in Eden community. Mr. Julius Babb 1b spending several days with Mr. Qeorge Babb of Barks dale. Miss Edna Owens, after spending several days with her sister, Mrs. Claude Wasson of Friendship, return ed homo Saturday evening. Mr. Solomon Mahaffey of Eden com munity spent Friday night with Mr. T. F. Babb and Saturday with Mrs. Nancy Owens. Misses Mae Roper, Bettle Weeks and Palmer Roper, Miss Allle Babb and brother, Mr. Houston attended a school' entertainment given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Nash Saturday night, which was very good, and was enjoyed by all present. Mr. Sloan Mahon bought a fine mule from Mr. Bill Oruy of Gray Court Sat urday. ? Mr. Anderson Abercromble of Hl<fk ory Tavern section, spent Thursday night with Mr. W. D. Owens. Poole on last Sunday in honor of her daughter, Miss Nine Poole. of Spartanburg. The house was beautifully decorated in pot flow ers. On account of the Inclemency of the weather only a few were present. Those that enjoyed the hospitality of Mrs. Poole were Misses Nina Poole, Eva Scott and Eva Cannon of Spar tanburg and Mr. W. C. Winters of Ty lersvllle. Everyone enjoyed the day Immensely. We are sorry to report that Miss Lucy Donnan has been sick at her home. Mrs. Joe Prior and little son, Ralph have returned to their home near Lau rens. Miss Grace Poole Is visiting friends and relativos In Spartanburg. Mr. J. S. Cratg of Clinton spent the week-end at his homo In this Bcction. Mr. Furman Poole was in Laurcns on business Friday. Rev. J. C. Davis made an Interesting talk at Sandy Springs Sunday. The total enrollment up to date is eighty-three. New desks had to be ordered to -accommodate the new students. Although the weather has been very bad, the high school attendance for the past month has been very good. The average attendance for tho month was 9f> per cent of the enrollment. During the month, the following stu dents had perfect attendance: Nathan Harksdale, Jennie Bolt, J. C. Irving, Mary Bolt, Maggie Clardy, William Davis, Charles Williams. Larry Boyd, Robt. Cain, Thomas Williams, Mary Harksdale, Marcus Boyd, Ryland Boyd, I Robt. Barnett, Walter Clardy, Minnie I Irving, Geo Langston and Mattlo Kate Owings. Minnie Irving has not been absent a day in nearly five years. The friends and patrons of the school are cordially invited to attend Washington's birthday exercises, Thursday afternon at 2:110 o'clock. Ev erybody in the community is expect ing a "treat" on Friday night, March 1. The play "All a Mistake" will be given by local talent at the school building. The boys and girls are working hard, and they feel sure of a grand success. After spending several days with Miss Mary Owlngs, Miss Maggie Sue McN'inch has returned to her home In Waterloo. Several people from this community attended the burial of Mr. William Copeland Sunday afternoon. Mrs. A. B. Barksdale of this neighborhood, was Mr. Copeland's daughter. Drummond and family. Mrs. L. M. Cannon Is spending the week in Spartanlmrg with her daught er, Mrs. B. F. Bomer. Mis. Lena Moore visited in Laurens recently. Mrs. Allie Nelson Is at home from Columbia for a while. Mr. J. D. Johnson has returned from a visit to Spartan-burg. Mrs. Leo Nelson was buried here Saturday. She leaves a house full of small children. Mr. Nelson has the sympathy of the entire community. Born to Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Cox a boy. Horn to Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Garrett, a boy. Mrs. Ophelia Fowler Is quite sick, threatened with pneumonia. Mrs. M. G. Patterson and Miss Marie attended the banquet at Greenwood last week. ENTERTAINMENT TRIMTY-R1DGE. Young People of Community Will GItc u Play at tlie School House. The play "All a Mistake" will be given by local talent at Trinity Hldge school house Friday, March 1, at 8 o'clock P. M. This Is an exceedingly Interesting play, and promises to be one well worth ntt?ndlng. The admission Is 10 cents and 25 cents. The proceeds will bo used for enlarging the school library. PEA RIDGE. Cunningham entertained at Nations Wednesday night In honor of Misses Mamie Charles and Mabel Goodwin. Mrs. M. A. Sumerel visited her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Todd in Clinton Tuesday. Mrs. Ella Shockley and daughter De8sle visited Mrs. N. J. Anderson Tuesday. Mrs. M. E. Cunningham was the guest of Mrs. R. I). Halrston Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Weathers, Miss C3 Nannie Rowland, Cora Workman, and Mr. Ernest Rowland visited in Clinton Friday. Miss Rosa Lee Bailey visited her sister, Mrs. 1). M. Norwood In Laurens last week. Mr. William Bailey of Furman, spent the week-end with home folks. Mrs. Robt. Cunningham Is spending a while at the home of Mr. f.. W. Cunningham. Mr. Willie Cunningham visited Mr. Johnnie Hipp Sunday. Mr. Ernest Rowland visited on the Ridge last week. Mr. R. E. Goodwin visited Mr. G. W. Cunningham Friday night.
