Miss Finnic Burg, of Converse Col Ice returned to Spartanburg Monday, after a week's stay with Miss Gladys Huff. 'Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Miss Jeannte Stoney. who has been teaching in the city graded schools, lias resigned her position and returned to her home in Camden. Mr. II. Miss Odessa Ilembree, accompanied by her brother, was in the city Thurs day. Hitt Bros, will build a ga rage and repair shop on their lot on railroad street. Dr. Theodore Peak has the sym pathy of our people on account of the death of Mr. John Peak, his only broth er. A meeting of interest has been in progress at the Methodist church (lie past week and may continue during this week. Rev. Mr. Crumples of North Carolina is assisting the pastor. Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Austin have been quite sick the past two weeks with grippe and threatened with pneumo nia. Quite an epidemic of grippe pre vails. The Misses Salter, two young ladies from Vaughnvllle were in town last Tuesday. The mule they were driving took fright, turned suddenly and up set the buggy. One of the ladies was right badly hurt and the blfggy was badly broken up. Miss Kate Austin spent a few days with homefolks the past, week after having finished examination at her school.
