During the first days of this week ClemBon had as her guest Mr. Brad ford Knapp and his farm demonstra tion agents of the Piedmont section of South Carolina. Twenty-five of these agents were present, and all were entertained in harrackB. Mr. Knapp, Dr. Knapp's son, responded to a short addres of welcome by act ing President Rlggs, and insisted that his melt should recognise.that, the ag ricultural college is to the demonstra tion agents what an implement fac tory is to tho farmer. The agricul tural college must furnish the neces sary Information which the agents dis seminate. His remarks along this line were well recolved and the spirit of cooperation which was manifest is ev idenced by resolutions passed by the farm demonstration agents, thanking President Rlggs and the faculty for! their hospitality and indorsing the work of tho college. The convention was addressed In different members of the faculty; Prof. Conradi spoke on "Injurious Insects", Prof. Harper on "Cotton Breeding"; Prof. Barre on "Cotton Diseases": Prof. Perkins on "Soil Fertility"; Prof. Barrow on "Mixing of Fertilizers", and Mr. Stackhouse on "The Fertiliz er Inspection and Analysis". Mr. J. M. Qasquo, who for' a num ber of years held the position of as jaiatant to. the Commandant has re. signed; it is not known yet who will take his place. The meeting of the board of trustees will convene Monday. March 6th. Dr. W. I). Weatherford, Internation al Secretary of the Y. M. C. A. is con duetlit" a series of meetings here. Hr. Weatherford is known throughout the South as an eloquent and forceful speaker. His wide experience with col lego men gives hlra a keen Insight in to their lives. His able and helpful addresses have been well attended by the students. Mr. John D. W. Watts, one of the best farmers of Laurent county, was among tho farm demonstration agents who met hore. Mrs. H.
