valuable Information to the farmer:
Will be presented. It is hoped that aj
good crowd will be in attendance. One
feature that it is especially desired i<>
stress is the importance of asking
questions freely, it* farmers will do
this freely, much greater benefit will
be derived by ih?M- who attend these
meetings. it is hoped that many
farmers and others will avail them
selves of this opportunity to gain val
uable information.

of life than from any other similar
source, she furnishes these necessi
ties to him from infancy until such
a time as temporal things are no long
er associated with his existanee, and
she does it ungrudgingly and constant
ly.
In addition to cntributing to man's
necessity and his pleasure, the pros
perity of an agricultural community
is more closely identified with her
than with any other of the domestic
animals. The horse is quite essential
in tilling the soil, but where necessity
requires it the sturdy son of a cow can
take his place, as lie has tine In every
agricultural Bcctlon on earth. The
liurse can only furnish labor and can
only return a profit to his owner when
conditions are right for returning sat
isfactory main crops. It is a well
known fact that the dairy coin Is the
salvation of the farmer in times of
poor crops as she is able to convert
the rough crops which are never a
total failure. Into dairy products which
have a cash value.
In addition to this she furnishes
skim milk and butter milk for the
calves, pigs and poultry and fertility
for the soil, without which a farm be
comes less valuable each year and the
winde country less prosperous.
The elimination of the dairy cow
would necessitate an almost revolu
tionary readjustment of man's tastes
and requirements, it would mean un
told suffering and hardship. Of course
she will not be dispensed with but
her value can perhaps best bo appre
ciated by contemplating such a loss.
She will continue to be man's best
friend as long its the human family
exists ami will ke< P <.:; supplying him
with his greatest needs just as she
has done through all the ages.

for the Insane where the erection ol
three new buildings lias been started
and the work on the completion ot
the "Taylor building" Is under way.
Dr. .1. \Y. I'.abcoek says that the work
will be rushed as fast as possible in
order to provide for the immediate
needs of the asylum. There are near
ly 1,000 patients at the asylum.
