Lisbon, Dec. 5th.?Already the fann ers in this section have about finished gathering the crops of 1900, something very unusual so early in the year. There is one fact thai is very notice able: more wheat and oats have been planted than ever before. People are raising more hogs and general farm supplies than ever before. That seems to mean that there is going to be less cotton planted. The repeal of the lien law is giving the negroes and small fanners of the poorer class something to think about these days. They are bidding on to the corn and other supplies that they have, for they realize that they cannot go to Lnureus or elsewhere and get "fixed up" for the months to come. A great many of the negro laborers are moving about from place to place with the hope of getting advances on their work. This practice is detrl : mental to farm labor: they should get no advances and then Messrs Sullivan and l.ow will have less work to do.
