NONAGENARIAN CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Last Wednesday, October <5, Mrs. Margaret (ioodwin. or Aunt Pod", as she is a ffeel innately known to all. celebrated her ninetieth birlhduy. The day was inn do tin- occasion of a big reception and picnic, about sixty of her relatives and friends assembling at her bom.' with well tilled baskets and a nice collect ion of presents for the honored hostess. All lite guests greatly enjoyed the day and Aunt fed" declared it one of the happiest occasions of her life. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. hid Will Cunningham of Carters vllle. (In.. Mr. Cunningham being the only nephew of Mrs. (ioodwin to enjoy this unusual occasion. However, there were quite a number of other distant relatives present .Mrs. (Ioodwin is the widow of the late Itoberl (ioodwin ami the mother of I). P. (Ioodwin. former state sen ator from this county and a prominent fa i nter of I bis seel ion. The writer has known Mrs. (Ioodwin all bis life, and can truthfully say that she has always been one of the best women he over knew. Il.-r life has been i benediction to those of her community, and in sickness or other misfortune to befall friends or neigh bora "Aunt red" was m vor merely a sympathetic friend inn one rendj ami willing to assist in every way possible tint it the lullrmities of her advanced years and a recent misfortune whic h befell her. prevented further efforts and energies in i his direct ion.
