Smith of the Lisbon com munity was in the city on Saturday. Messrs. Erblick and Owens of Co lumbia passed through l.aurens at lOtoO o'clock yesterday morning in their automobile, enroute home after a ten days' trip through the northern part of this state and in North Caro lina. They came from Greenville on Tuesday morning. Miss Ethel Sullivan and Miss Ulla Beaty left yesterday for llenderson Ville, where they will spend a month. Mr. G. W. Cooper of Orangeburg. while on his way to the mountains of North Carolina, spent Sunday after noon and Monday morning with Mr. I.. It. Blackwell. Mr. Cooper is an expert linotype operator. Lieut. I. N. Richardson leaves today for Vorkville where lie joins the other members of Col. Lewis' staff; from Yorkvllle these army officers will ride, horseback, to Greenville, whore the 3rd regiment goes into camp next Tuesday. Mr. E. T. II. Shaffer of IWuterboro spent a few days this week in the city with Mr. and Mis. S. E. Coney, leav ing yesterday for his summer home in Saludu; he was accompanied by Mrs. Coney who will spend a week there. Mr. M. 1..
