They say that when they got stuck in the mud at Island Ford a negro man came along and proffered his as sistance and while they were at work the negro said that they occasionally saw the supervisor of I.aureus county in that neighborhood but that this particular road was in Newberry county and they hftd never scon the Newberry supervisor up there, and in fact he had heard that Newherry did nor have any supervisor all.
