MkK A STEAM EVtHTKE.
It Takes the Hlght Amount to .Make
the ThiufC I'jij.
it requires a certain steam pros
sure to make a locomotive run. A
traction of a pound less, than the re
quired power, and all under It Is of
uo avail the engine will not move.
It takes cumulative power to run
anything, and in degree sufficient to
accomplish the purpose.
A marked characteristic of adver
tising is its cumulative force.
The constant and repeated mention
of a merchant's name in connection
with the goods Of a certain line has a
value out of all proportion to that of
! the single announcement. Like a
snow ball rolling down bill, persist
! ent. regular advertising gains rap
jIdly in force.
In beginning to advertise, keep this
in mind: there must be enough ad
; vertising used to secure the desired
result. A little less than the neces
sary amount, and you will not succeed
in the degree that is possible. The
, failure to continue advertising for a
long enough period to demonstrate
its cumulative power has been the
most frequent cause of not securing
I the benefit that advertising is capable
of producing.
