Notice of Election.
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA,
COUNTY OF LAURBNS.
Office of County Supervisor.

Whereas, on the 28th day of April,
A. D. 1908, there was tiled with mo in
my office a petition in writing signed
by more than one-fourth of the qualified
electors of Laurens County, S. ('.,
firaying for an election upon the (pies
ion of Dispensary or No Dispensary
That is to say whether alcoholic liquors
and beverages may be sold in said
county under and according to tho pro
visions of an Act of the General As
sembly of the State of South Carolina,
approved the 16th day of February, A.
D. 1907, entitled "An Act to Declare
tho Law in Reference to and to Regu
late the Manufacture, Sale, Use, Con
sumption, Possession, Transportation
and Disposition of Alcoholic Liquors
and Beverages within tho State und to
Police the Same," and under and ac
cording to the provisions of all Acts of
the Goneral Assembly of South Caro
lina amendatory thereof; and
Whereas, upon a canvass of the aid
petition I have found that it does con
tain the signatures of more than one
fourth of tho qualified electors of said
county.
Now, therefore, I, II. B. Humbert,
Supervisor of Laurens County, South
Carolina, under and by virtue of the
authority in me vested by the provi
sions of tho Act of the General Assem
bly and the Acts amendatory thereof
hereinbefore cited, do order a Special
Election to be hold in said County of
Laurens, State of South Carolina, tu
cording to law, upon the question of
Dispensary or No Dispensary on the
first Tuesday following the firs! .Men
day in November next, it being the
third day of November, A. I>. 1908.
And at the said election there shall also
be submitted tho question whether one
third of the license fees and dispensary
be paid to the County Treasurer, to he
applied to the county school fund or to
roads and bridges. And tho said ?

of one-third of the Dispensary profits
to the County School fund shall cast a
ballot in tho box provided therefor upon
which shall bo printed the words "For
School Fund," and every voter opposed
thereto, but in favor of its application
to roads and bridges, shall east a ballot
on which shall bo printed the words
"For Roads and Bridges."
Done and ordered at Laurens Court
House, in County of Laurens, in the
