FULLER?RASOR. A Sunday Marriage at Cross Hill?Per sonal Mention. Cross Hill, July 24.-Mr. J. Henry Raaor, son of Mr. W. C. Rasor, and Miss Blanche Fuller were married at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. W. B. Fuller, Sunday evening, July 22nd at 7.30 o'clock, the Rev. J. A. Martin officiating. Mr. G. W. Proffitt has been quito sick, but at present is some better. Mr. G. W. Lipscomb and family of Ninety Six arc visiting relatives in town. Miss Maggie Martin of Greenwood is visiting Mrs. W. C. Rasor. Miss Dennis of Newberry is visiting Miss Laura Hollingsworth. Miss Victoria Rudd of Saluda is vis iting the Misses Rudd. The condition of Mrs. John Hol lingsworth who has been quite ill for the past several weeks is still very critical. Tylersville Tidings. Tylersvillc, July 23.-Several hard rains fell here the past week. Seems that the farmers will never get through work. Miss Jennie Glenn, of Phiison, is vis iting her sister, Mrs. Fred Little. Miss Alma Peterson is visiting friends and relatives at Youngs. Mr. A. E. Cleveland spent Sunday with Mr. W. F. Cleveland at Hunting ton. Messrs. Bluford Blakely and Hugh Donnan attended preaching at Warrior Creek Sunday. Little Miss Jessie Lee Abercrombic has returned to her home at Youngs af ter a pleasant visit to her grand pa rents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Peterson. We are glad to report our sick friends as improving. Every one seems to be looking for ward with much interest to the County Sunday School Convention, which meets at Bethany the 2d and 3d of August. Opening Books of Subscription. We, the undersigned, have been con stituted and commissioned by J. T. Gantt, Secretary of State, a Board of Corporators, and authorized and em powered to open books of subscription to the capital stock of the "Automobile Transfer Co." to be organized and created a corporation, with its principal 5dace of business at Laurens Court House, South Carolina, for the purpose of transferring one or more persons from one place to another for a reason able compensation. We, therefore, give notice that the books of subscription to the capital stock of said "Automobile Transfer Co." will be opened on Thursday, the 26th day of July, 1906, at ten o'clock, a. m., at the office of W. R. Richey, at Laurens, South Carolina, and will re main-open from day to day until the stock of said company is all subscribed. Annual Celebration. The annual celebration of Myrtle Camp, No. 206, Woodmen of the World, will be held August 4th, 1906. Several speakers will be present. Everybody invited to come with full baskets. L. D. ELLEDGE, Consul Commander. July 23, 1906. Death of Mr. W. D. Washington. Mr. William D. Washington died at his home here at half past seven o'clock on Monday morning after a protracted illness. Mr. Washington returned from Baltimore where he underwent an oper ation at Johns Hopkins Hospital some weeks ago and since then his death has not been unexpected. He was thirty-eight years old and had been married for about fourteen years. He is survived by his wifo and four daughters, Claudia, Armitteo. Lois, and Ruth, and by a sister, Mrs. W. E. Washington, and two brothers, the Bev. John W. Washington and Mr. Geo. W. Washington. He was a son of the late Mr. Willis Washington of this county. His wife is a daughter of Mr. W. Sanford Knight of Brewerton. The funeral services were held at Poplar Springs church on Tuesday. Mr. Washington was a very popular man and the sympathies of tho com munity go out t" the stricken wife and children in their aillction. The News From ML Bethel. Mt. Bethel, July 23.-We have bad rain until the farmers are blue and now the fields are green. We arc looking for barrels of fun this summer when we hear the candidates tell of their particular qualifications for the different offices. The Indian said he never was as ashamed in his life as ho was when his wife died. That is just like some of us feel when we visit Greenville and Spar tanburg and see their magnificent pub lic buildings and return to Laurens and see none at all. We have had Mr. D. F. Balcntine of Laurens with us for sometime. He has repaired the Mt. Bethel organ, putting it in first-class order. He has also sharpened Mr. E. G. Mitchell's gin? doing very satisfactory work. Back from Greenville arrives at (9.00 a. m.,) 1.85 p. m., (6.35 p. m.) Trains come in from Greenwood at (5.40 a. m.,) 1.45 p. m., (8.15 p. m.) Trains go to Greenwood (9.30 a. m.) 1.50 p. m., (10.50 p. m.) Those marked thus ( ) are mixed trains ?freights with passenger coaches attached and run daily, except Sunday. Those unmarked are exclusive passcn Ser trains and run every day. Accomo ation trains cannot from the nature of things make perfect schedules. They do the best they can, so be patient and don't blame the railroad people all the time. Marriage at Cross Hill. Mr. Henry Rasor, son of Mr. W. C. Rasor, and Miss Blanche Fuller, daugh ter of Mr. R. Benton Fuller, were mar. ried at the home of the bride on Sunday afternoon. The ceremony wa.? per formed by the Rev. J. A. Martin. Both young people have many friends who wish them happiness and prosper ity through life. Correction Notice. Tho meeting of the citizens of Sulli van Township will be held on Monday, August 6, instead of Saturday, August 4, as elsewhere announced. C. C. FEATHERSTONE. AN INTERESTING VISITOR. A Newspaper Woman of North Carolina at Cross Hill. Cross Hill, July 24.-Mrs. J. McK. Harrington, of North Carolina, is visit ing her cousin, Mrs. Guthrio, of Cross Hill. Mrs. Harrington is a newspaper writer of some note; also, a great lover of" history, and lias very much enjoyed visiting "The Old Cuningham Home," and the "Old Nance Homestead", which has lately been known as the "Watts place.'' She was also very much interested in our "Beuuford Watts Ball Chapter," as she is a true Daughter of the Confeder acy, and will interest her editors with historical reminiscences when she re turns to her work. Organizing New Bank. Having resigned my position as Vice President and Director in the Hank of Laurens, I am now, assisted by good business men, soliciting subscriptions for a new bank, which will open for work in September. Miss Tallulah Caine entertained the Nations Club yesterday afternoon. The entertainment was marked by the hos pitality and cordiality for which the hostess is noted. Tho parlors were adorned with roses and nasturtiums and many tables wore set out for the game of the afternoon. The club numbers twenty-four mem bers, many of whom are now out of town.
