Ic seems to be generally conceded that Laurens is r!pe for the establish ment of new enterprises and we give this le'ter because of its suggestive n*ss: Cincinnati, O., April 5th, !904. II K. C: Ok a r Sir : A company manufactu - log woven wire fences now operating at Indisnopoli?, Inl., will eetiblisb a branch plant somewhere in the South, to operate in conjunction with their main plant. Tbey nerd 1 sere of ground a'ong the lino of a railroad, a one story building, GO by 303. They will employ at the start95 persons, and will put In 6 power loom* costing $1000 apiece and powor and rosorve the right to furnish an experienced man to operate the plant. Their capitalization is $05,000 but a branch institution will depend upon its location and the agreement of the pirtles after consultation They want a community that will donate the land free, who will put up an amount of money in buildings and othrrwlse, ei ther by way of a bonus, subscriptions to stook or bonds, or a loan outright, to at least equal the amount advanced by the company. It will perhaps take from $5,0r.0 to $7,500 to accomplish this purpose, and this amount the oity must meet as their part of the enter prise. Are you In a position to take up this immediately with a view to closing matters within a very early date? Re member the company Is established, and their orders are in excess now of their capacity to nil them. If you are in shape to consider this, kindly state your proposition fully, so that wo will at once consider it and decide upon our course.
