Thompson, mot with an accident on Saturday afternoon, which is remarka ble in that thero were no very serious results Ho by some accident s'opped off the Waro Shoals dam and fell a dis tanco of thirty feet. His friends will be glad to know that he escaped without broken bonos or serious injury of any kind. An Interesting Announcement. Cards are out for the marriage of Miss Birdie Bolle Vanco, Minden, La , to Mr. Joseph Wharton Peyton, Wed nesday evening, Novomber, 18th, at the First Baptist Church, Minden, La. Death of Mrs. li. it. (freer, Mrs. H. B. Grcor, wife of Rev. Mr. Gresr, pastor of tho A. R. P. church at Ora, died on Monday morning at six o'clock after an illness of somo weeks. Her death is unusually sad as sho leaves several littlo children. Mrs. Greor was a Miss Loo of Abbeville and lias a largo connection in that county. COMINO OS THE 19TII. The ladies of the Wednesday Olub have prevailed upon Dr. II. N. Syndcr, president of WolTord College, to give them a lecture on Southorn Literature on the ovoning of November 20th. There will be no admission foe charged and it is hoped that everyone will take advantage of the opportunity to hoar a lecture from ouo of tho most accomplished scholars and lecturers in tho Stato.
