turned toSpartanburg. While here he
hud u rainoralogist go up to his farm
about twelve miles above the city in
search of valuable ruinorals. The dls
covory of a large and oxtenslve deposit
of marblo was mado. The expert de
clared it was made of an ?xceptlonally
line quality and rare beauty. Traces of
other mineral were also found, but not,
it is thought, in paying quantities. It
is not known whether this bed will be
worked or not. One drawback to its
dovclopement is that is about six miles
from a railroad.
