Bass and little son have returned to I heir home in Beaufort county, after an extended visit to hor parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Warren Blarkely. Rev Sir: Three churches in Bald win8villc, N. Y., have bad their ilrst lesson in Dovoo, Messrs. Osterhout & Loekwood paint ed the Presbyterian parsonage; esti mated 80 gallon*; took 22. Messrs. Sllngerland & Shutter paint ed the Episcopal church; os'imated 40 gallons; took 28. Same painters painted tho Catholic church; estimated 50 gallons: took 89. Of course, they estimated from what they had been using. The saving in paint and work is $4 or $6 a gallon.
