On tho morning of tho 12th of May,
tin Angel of Death entered tho sacred
circle of a home in our midst and bore
away in his cold cmbrac3, a young life
which was the center and light of a
happy home.
The entire community was moved
with the deepest sympathy.
The suddenness of this unexpected
stroke almost robbed us of tho power
to realize that our bright, happy and
beloved friend and co-workor, MrsNita
Wrilkes, had fallen asleep: and whereas
her graco of manner, her gentle and
roliued womanliness, and abovo all,
her beautiful Christian character, won
our love. Therefore ivsjlved:
1st. That in bor doath our Societies
havo lost one of their most active,
earnest and elliclent member; cno who
over rendered a loving, willing service
to every call.
2nd : That while our hearts are sad,
each one of us^havlng sustained a per
sonal grief, wo would bow submissively
to God's will, knowing that he doeth
according to His will in the army of
heaven and among the inhabitants of
of the earth.

RttY. T. W. Sloan of tho First
Church, Greenvillo, preachod a sormon
of great power in the First Presbyter
im Church here Sunday morning and
a'so in tho evening, Rev. Robert Ad
ams filled Mr. Sloan's pulpit in Green
ville, and that congregation was doubt
less equally pleased,
Mr. Andren McKee Dead.
Mr. Andrew McKee died at bis home
on Factory Hill Sunday. He was 48 or
50 years old and is survived by a wffe
and a largo family of children. He wrs
brought up in Sullivan township and
his wife was Miss Puckett before her
marriage. The body was taken to Pop
lar Springs Monday for burial.
Mr. MeKco was 8n industrious and
useful citizen. His famHy have tho
deep sympathy of numerous friends.
Death of Mr?. Leland.
Mrs. Anna A. Iceland, widow of the
late Major J. A. Iceland, died at Mt.
Pleasant, coar Charleston, on the
morning of July, S, Mrs. Leland is
well remembered hero. Her husband
was president of the Laurensville Fe
male C,liege In the seventies. She
was tho grand-mother of Leland Ken
nedy of the Greenwood graded schools
and of Miss Isabel Kennedy. The lat
ter was with hor when she died. She
had reached an advanced age. She was
a Christian woman of many graces of
character.
