BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Laurons, of the City of Laurens, that a tax of Fifty Cents op every One Hundred Dollars worth of the assessed valuo of all property, Real or Personal, uot exempt by law from taxation, situated with the limits of tho City of Laurens, be, and the same is hereby levied, for corpo rate purpose, to defray the current ex penses ot said City, for the Fiscal Year commencing January 1st, lOOtf, and to moot such other indebtedness, as has been contracted by said City for corpo rate purposes. Smith, of Spartan burg, a distinguished and venerable minister of the Methodist Church, died on tho afternoon of Monday tho 18th. Mr. Smith was a native of tills county and was the fathor of Mr. A J.
