about $2,000 per annum and for the
thirty years that the Bonds run a mat
ter of $00,000 to Laurens Taxpayers.
Gov. McSweeney has in his pocket
tho Bill passed last January, allowing
free passes. If he keeps it there the
bill becomes a law. Wo haven't space
to give reasons, but the bill should be
vetoed?it should bo swung up as an
ordinary lynching, and every one
take a craok at the corpus.
Will Logan, colored, escaped from
iall on Friday afternoon, and Is still at
large. Logan tore a hole in the ceiling
of his cell, escaped to the roof and
then through a tcuttle holo made hie
way to the nail below. There upon be
ing questioned, by an assistant jailor
he explained that he had been released
on bail and so strolled out on the street
and out of town. Pursuit was made at
once but so far has been Ineffectual.
Logan was charged with stealing a cow
at Waterloo and selling it at Green
wood some two or threo years ago. Ho
would have beet) tried at the next term
of court.
