h st men, died last. Thursday, the 10th,
and was laid away in the family grave
yard on Friday, the 17th. Mr. Walker
was a good Christian and loved bis
church . The church will miss him
along with his neighbors and family.

and many relatives to mourn their loss

On the Sabbath morning of Aug.
22d., as all nature was praising
Qod and the little songsters car
rolled their thanks for the blessed
day ot rest the soul of Mrs. Mar
garet t Patterson went to its
eternal rest. For twenty years
only she lived to brighten tho
world. At the age of ten she join
ed the Presbyterian Church at
Hockey Springs. Prom a sonse of
duty and of her own free will she
joined the B-tptist Church at Lap
ford in A UgUSt , 185)0.
Her life whs a beautiful illustra
tion of faith in Christ. At the age
of sixteen she stood at the mar
riage altar, and as a wife she sa
credly fulfilled that vow. In the
home happiness reigned and two
bright-eyed little ones were given
them.
Alas! that dreaded disease, ty
phoid fi ver touched tho beloved
mother, her little ones are left
motherless, tho fond husband bro
ken-hearted.
Only a few days before her death,
being conscious that the tlmo of
her depart tire was near at hand,
she sent for her pastor and res
q ups ted him to pray with her. She
saw a sister-in-law weeping. She
said ''don't weep for me, I am so
happy, I am goiug home to Heaven
to rest forever."
IL r faith, patience, resignation
and submission were evidences of
her gracious state and of bei safety
in I he Lord.
Beloved by all the church and by
tho whole community, she now
rests from her labor. In Heaven
she stands at the beautiful gate
waiting and, watching for yon?
meet her there.
