hands and his wife - and daughters
wash and iron for a living.

On last Tuesday for dologatcs to the
Constitutional Convention excited lit
tlo interest* There party was no ques
tion involved, tho Reform clement lfuv
ing called tho convontlon with tho al
leged purpose of regulating tho suf
frage and educational provisions. Tho
Conservative element having had no
part refrained from voting. Tho Refor
mers also largoly rofrained. Tho Dem
^.ocratlc strength is 2,(100 of which tho
?konservative Is about 800. The Domo
graic voto was 1,812 of which at least
PHPffiO were, Con8orvat ives leaving eleven
hundred Roformors voting outof a pos
sible 1,800. Tho Republican voto was
89. Thoro aro probably two hundred
?nogroos in tho county qualified to voto
under tho presont registration admin
istration. Tho only Incident of note
was the fact of about 200 nogroos bolng
at thp Laurons poll with tho intontion
a of voting with or without registration
tickets. In somo qunrtors thoro is a
disposition to crltlci8o Conservatives
for not more largoly voting, but tho
samo criticism applies to RofQrmcrs.
Nobody regarded party issues as in
