Roanoke, Va., Jan. 10.?The
National Bank of Rocky Mount,
located at Rocky Mount, Frank
lin county, on the Roanoke ai <1
Southern railway, 25 miles south
of this city, was entered by rob i
bers early this morning and the
sale blown open. The burglars
secured $3,000 in silver. A steel
vault containing $20,000 in currency
and gold was not molested,
probably because the explosion
was heard by a man asleep over
the bank and an alarm w as given.

Dynamite was used to

Several strangers had been

this city is president of the bank,
'l'he bank carries $8,000 burglar
insurance. So tar there is no
trace of the robbers.
