There were three witnesses to
the tragedy, and according to
' these witnesses the negro must
* have been waitingdor Mr. Green
i to come home from his ollice.

two steps leding to the hall door,

There was a brief interchange 01
words and then the negro drew a

rapid succession. Mr. Green

Wm. H. Burns, carriage starter

to walk away, and turned him
over to policeman and a detctive,
who rushed up a moment later.

house and took the dead or dying
man's head in her lap, at the

by Williams, and heard the former

found the revolver, which was
