the 11 year-old boh of Mr. John
D. Q. Kinard, of the Bach man
Chapel community of Newberry
county, met with a horrible
death yesterday. 1J^ was in his
father's cotton house, playing
hide and seek with his little baby

life was smothered out.

Mrs. Kinard asked her aon, Ernnept,
to take his baby brother out
to play. In about an hour Mrs.
Kiuard called Ernest to dinner.
Lie failed to answer and Mrs.
Kinard, becoming alarmed, went
to the cotton house. She fouud
her son in the pile of cotton dead.
The four little boys, sons of Mr.
Kinard, had gone to the cotton
house, as they usually did every
hay, to play. li.ruesi was tue
oldest child. It is supposed the

about four ieet deep which be had
dug in the pile of cotton. He

out. It was found that breath
had left the body. The neighbors
were called in and every effort
was made to lestore the boy to
life, but all to no avail.
This is a very trying hour for
the bereaved parents, who have
the sympathy of the entire community.
