THE DEADLY U1UDE CROSS-1
INU.
Cincinnati, Ohio, July 9.?A
west-bound train on the Penn%
sylvania Road struck a wagon
containing nine people at a crossing
eight miles east of this city
to-night, killing four, fatally injuring
threo and seriously injuring
two of the ocupants of the
wagon. Robert Copenhagen,
I with his wile and two children,
s aged 8 and 2 years respectively,
; were going from Red Comb June'
tion to Masonville. A daughter
of a neighbor and four of their
boarders, William Booth, Charles
i Johnes, William Poole and anolher
man, whose name was not
learned, accompanied them. They
did not observe the train, which
was corning at a high speed,
j When the engineer saw them lie
I blew his whistle, but it was too
j late to stop the train. The mules,
I on hearing the whistle, stopped
[ and could not be moved. The
| animals were across the track and
j escaped unhurt, while the wag\
on was wrecked and all the occuI
pants either killed or injured.
There are no oil endowed institutions
in heaven.
