Diamond Robbery in Tampa.
Tampa, Fla, February 13 ?Five
thousand dollar* worth of dia
monds wore stolen from Adam1!*
jewelry store between 5 and 8
o'clock this afternoon. No one
^ wan noticed acting suspiciously,
* but the diamonds were seen ai
5 o'clock. The chief of police
was immediately notified and
jL> while an investigation was in
progress a patrolmen entered the
store and said he had two men
spotted.
After a search both men were
found and arrested. One who
identified by a man to whom he
had attempted to sell diamond a
few minutes before. The other
roan was found in posnession of
one of the stolen ringa, The men

Some Affidavits Tillman's Lawyers
Have Secured.

Newberry, Feb. 12.?On a
notion made by Solicitor Thurnond,
on the part of the prosesution,
the hearing on the appli
:ation for bail of James H. Tillnan,
charged with murder, was
postponed until Thursday next,
vhen it will be held in the
supreme court room in Columbia.
The motion was sustained on the
{round that couusel for defense
jud not submitted to Stule'6
counsel the affidavits presented
oday, and State's counsel thereore
had had no opportunity for
eply. Following are the affilavits
in substance, as they were
mbmitted today.

Before me personally appeared

said that he recalled the events
mentioned in Holtzenbach's affidavit
and substantiating it in
every particular, except that not
N. G. Gonzalea, he did not say it
was Mr. Gonzales.

out for his safety while in Oolumbia,

inquired for deponent and said

his room, while upon Main street,
he observed N. G. Gonzales coming
directly towards him, glaring
