Davidson vfc Co. havo sold their brokerage business to Messrs. T. L Ililton and W. A. Clanton who will continue the business at the same place under the firm name of Hilton ifcClanton. Mr. Davidson has purchased an interest in a lumbering business with Mr. John T. On December 24,1902, a quiet homo wedding occurred at the - homo of Justice Ira B.Jones, that of his daughter, Mrs. Rosa Marion, an estimable and highly esteemed young lady, ana Dr. J P. Young, a prominent and rising physician of the Richburg section. The ceremony was pronounced by Rev.W.C.Lwart, ^ pastor of the bride, and witnessed by only the family and a ? few special friends. Dr. and Mrs. Young left for their home Friday afternoon, carrying with them the best wishes of a host of friends. Among the guests from abroad were Mr. J T. Marion of New York. Major J. II. Marion of Chester and Senator P. L. Hardin of L?ascomville and Dr. and Mrs. J.C. Montgomery of Charlotte, N. S. Harper of this place, last Friday morning after an illness of several weeks of pneumonia. She: was a daughter of the late Capt M. B Kirk of this county and a sister of Mr R. M Kirk of the Primus section. She was in her <53td year. She leaves live sons five daughters till of whom are grown and doing well. She was a member of the A R. Gardner of Darlington county stopped over hero one night recently on his return from a trip into Chester county to inspect lands for parties who think of growing tobacco. Mr. J. S. Wilson lias gone to Columbia to get the hall in sliapo for the assembly of the legislature next Tuesday. lie is a candidate for re election to the position of Sergeant-at arms of the house. Mr. J. W. Poovey and daughter, Miss Willie, of Fairfield^ spent several days with the family of Dr. Poovey last week. Mr. W. 11. Twitty, of Charlotte, N. C., visited his sister here last week, Mrs. Dr. M. P. Crawford. Hon. T. Y.
