the Farmer*' Alliance Exchange
has formally pone out of biini
ness, but the officials in cbnrgoof

Cotton Plant did not dosire to
anticipate an announcement
from the board of director*, who
are charged with the duly of distributing

change, which consists of $17,000

were only a very few counties
which were represented by actual I
members ot the organization then
in session. In a large majority*
of the counties there are very
few sub-alliaiices in working or
der, and in many of them none
at all. County alliances do not
number a half score, and in fact,
they can be counted upon the
fingers of one hand, where there

This situation rouifrs the distribut

possible, us the ot niributors are
largely unknown, and only those
who helped to raise the lund can
honestly take a dollar of it. However,
the board of directors charg
ed with the distribution will ro
turn the money to the counties,
and it will be left to those, who
ire willing to take trouble to
hunt out the original contributors
or resurrect the sub-alliances for
the purpose of making some disposition
of the money. It is a
difficult undertaking, but with
this distribution is the passing of
a most worthy institution.
