Woman Rescued From Brink of
Niagara.
Buffalo, Nov. 13.?Mrs. Helen
ostello of Buffalo wag readied
from the brink of the American
[alia today by employes of the
reservation. This afternoon word
was received at the reservation
office that a woman had attemptsd
to commit suicide and was
(loafing down the stream toward
the falls. Superintendent Perry
secured a quantity of rope and
hurriec to the bridge which connects
Green island with Goat
island. The woman was seen
clinging to a submerged log at a
point a few feet below the
bridge. A noose was fitted about
[he body of John Marshall, a
reservation employe, and he was
owered into the 'rushing waters.
He succeeded in reaching the
woman's side and placed a rope
ibout her waist. The two were
hen slowly hauled to the stone
ibutment of the bridge. A ladier
was lowered and the woman
was landed safely. Mrs. Costello
s very weak from exposure, but
;he hospital physicians say she
will recover. Domestic troubles
caused the woman to seek death.

of Inventions that a patent has
been granted for his rotary engine,
of which an acconrf w?

Now*. Mr. Jenkins is in partner
ship with his father in luw, J. F.
Ford, in receiving the patent.

"Thc?e are mmy advantages
in a rotary engine over the re
ciprooating engine. Mr. Jenkins'
patent is the only one that has
what is known as expansion in
creating power. There is no
back motion, no dead motion. It
takes less steam to ran it than
it does the old reciprocating
I motion cylinder, or a turbine

eugino is neat and takes up very
little space. There is less danger

made to invent one that will take
the place of the reciprocating engine.
