The Kurt Mili Savings Bank, an

institution in which our town
took great pride, whs robbed by I
professional burglars at an early
hour Tuesday morning. Thir
startling discovery was made by
Mr. Jas. Grier, who passed the
bank on his way to open his store
for the day's busines. Mr. Grier's
attenion was attracted by a lot of
broken glass scattered over Main
street. This, it was discovered,
came from a front window of the
building. Glancing in through
the broken panes, Mr. Grier saw
that the big vault and safe hail
been blown open, and many
books and papers were scattered
over the room. Lie immediately
notified Mr. W. B. Meacham.cashier
of tne institution, who with
other gentlemen entered the bank
and began an investigation. The

Then the double, time lock so |

in cash and many valuable papers 1
were destroyed or stolen.

packages of money were overlooked
by the robbers, and the ^

were the guilty parties, but it is 11

bridge, and it is thought that the i
piece of money wan dropped by [
the thief who went that way. i

that the bank was not seriously
