of the physicians with care.
Since the use of the aspiration

operation until yesterday "
The president passed an uneventful

of the time in his wheel chair
by means of which he was able
to be moved to various parts of

to be progressing satisfactorily

when the wound was dress

One Hundred Graves Desecrated
J5y Human Devils.
Indianapolis, Tnd , Sept. 29
?Wholesale robbery of graves
iii the cemeteries about Indianapolis,
which has been going on
for some time, was brought tq,
a close early this morning by
the arrest of a gang of seven
negroes.
Warrants were also issued today
for a prominent physician,
tne demonstrator of anatomy in
the Central College of Pliysi
cians and Surgeons, in which
two stolen bodies wore found
about lft days ago; for an interne
in the college and for the
janitor of the college' The
negroes under arrest are : Wal
ter Daniels, Sol Grady, Sam
Martin, Garfield Bucker, Win
Jones, Rufus Oatitrell and Ish
am Donnell. All live in Indianapolis."
Rufus Cautrell made a com
pleto confession and implicated
the others. He said the demon
strator accompanied the negroes
on several of the grave
robbing expeditions.
ONI! ITUNDKEI) OttAYKS KOii OKI)
Nearly ^one hundred graves,
it is saiil has been robbed by
ghouls during the last three
months. The detectives say the
negroes were aimed with shot
guns and equipped with horses
and wagons. The bo'ies were
sold to dill'erent colleges which
opened their winter terms last
week. f! he detectives say that
a complete investigation will
probably show that even the
I graves in Crown Jlill were dose
crated by the ghouls. Cantrell
said that he and the other negroes
visited Mount Jackson
cemetery almost every time ant
one was buried in the place
"We pretty near cleaned thai
place out," he said. "1 don't
believe that we have missed
anybody that has been buried
there since Jnlj' ''
When the negroes were brough
into court all weakened and
confessed that they were mem
hers of an organized gang oi
ghouls.

his posession a lot of circulars
bearing the name of that firm.
The circulars olFored $1 25 per

other flattering inducements.
Stover hired an Anderson negro*,
Vess Brown, to help him distribute
the circulars, and they
were scattered broadcast among
the colored population.
It is said the negro Stover has
been very successful in hiring
laborers and bad arranged for a
party of fifty or more to leave for
lv nrtvnillo ? ?->
I lu uay. .transportation
for them was telegraphed to him
a day or so ago.
But it is probable thai the purtv
will not get off to day, for
Stover and his assistant, Brown,
were arrested late yesterday
afternoon by Chiei l'olice Dillinghatn
and Policeman Davis
and spent the night in the station
house. They were charged with
violating the bill posting ordinance,
distributing circulars withlout
taking license. r- ....... v ^

a State warrant will be sworn out
against Stover, charging him
with violating the Stale law
