The citizens of a section of
count* v oast of Lancaster have
signeu and sent up to Washington
a petition for the establishment
of a rural Iree delivery
route from Lancaster down the
Ginger Cake road to where that
road intersects tlie Rocky River
road; thence down the latter
road to l'rimus and then up the
Red fill road to I - tncasl pp ti?o 1
petition was signed by 109 heads
of families, none of whom live
nearer than a mile of any post
office and very lew nearer than
three to five miles of any. A
large section of country, there-!
fore, would be greatly benefitted
by such a route and there is little
doubt that it will be established.
Mr. \V. G. A. i'orter who took
au active part in getting up Ihe
petition for this route showed us I
a letter from Senator Tillman
acknowledging the receipt of the |
petition and saying that he had
endorsed ii and forwarded samei
to the Post Office department.
